Peter Lok is an interdisciplinary scholar working at the intersection of critical theory, Continental philosophy, cultural studies, and practical theology. Formed within both Jesuit and Dutch Reformational intellectual traditions, he adopts an ecumenical perspective to address pressing contemporary social and cultural questions.
Peter’s recent research investigates the relationship between theology and embodied experience, situating body theology in critical dialogue with theories of emotional capitalism and the social structuring of affect/emotion. In his coming project, he will engage posthumanism and new materialism, examining their conceptual intersections with theology and their significance for understanding the ecological dimension of contemporary life.
