Prof. Christine I. Ho

Global Public Art (2020-2021)

She is an associate professor of East Asian Art in the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  She specializes in late imperial, modern, and contemporary Chinese art. Her research focuses on ink painting, aesthetics and politics, global socialist visual culture, and the postsocialist legacy. Her latest book is Drawing from Life: Sketching and Socialist Painting in the People's Republic of China (University of California Press, 2020).

He is an educator, theatrologist, and cultural mediator. He is currently the Director and Professor of the Master in Communication and Media Studies program with UniPegaso (Italy). He was formerly an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Berjaya University College. Between 2019 and 2020, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Institute of Cultural Industries, Peking University.

He is Associate Professor of Literary and Cultural Studies in the Department of English and holds the Francisco C. Delgado Professorial Chair in the Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines). He sits on the Advisory Boards of the Asia Theories Network (University of California Humanities Research Institute/National Taiwan University) and the Center for Art and Thought (USA) as well as on the Editorial Advisory Boards of several Philippine and international academic journals.

Theatre Workshop on Gender and Power (2019-2020)

She is a world-famous feminist “artivist” whose performances, exhibitions and directing have been shown in many parts of the world and have great policy impacts within mainland China. Her artistic design and theatre directing aim to make visible gender violence, female bodies, inequality and topics of the “private sphere”. She is the creator, writer and director of the play Our Vaginas Ourselves, which has been performed nearly 100 times throughout the world. She is the awardee of “Model of the Year” by the United Nation Women, “100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy, and “100 Incredible Women” by Porter. Her writings and speeches are published by the New York Times, Financial Times and TED talks.

Wang Jiuliang

He is a documentary director and cinematographer. His most acclaimed works Plastic China (2016) and Beijing Besieged by Waste (2012) interrogate the global problems of environmental pollution and consumerism. He is the awardee of the Excellent Photographer in 2008 Pingyao International Photography Festival, Gold Award in 2009 Lianzhou International Photo Festival, the Jury Prize in 29th International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, and the nomination of best documentary in 54th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards.
