Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies - Curriculum and Concentrations

Religion and Culture

Students may choose to declare a concentration “Religion and Culture” by taking the following elective courses in place of “Elective Courses” in BA Religious Studies Major Programme Requirement.

 

Applicable to students admitted in 2024-25

 

(a) 2 courses from the followings: (6 units)

  • CURE 1001 Introduction to Cultural Studies
  • CURE 1006 Introduction to Film and Screen Studies
  • CURE 1009 Research Methods in Cultural Studies
  • CURE1010 Text and Image: A Critical Analysis

(​b) 9 CURE courses at 2000 or above level: (27 units)

  • At least 2 courses are from the Cultural Studies Areas, AND
  • At least 7 courses are from the Religious Studies Areas

Notes:

  1. This concentration is only applicable to students who major in Religious Studies.
  2. ARAB, CURE, EDUC and THEO courses at 2000 and above level as included in the respective concentrations will be included in the calculation of Major GPA for honours classification for students specialize in the relevant concentrations.
