Religion and Health

Students may choose to declare a concentration Religion and Health by taking the following elective courses in place of “Elective Courses” in BA Religious Studies Major Programme Requirement.

 

Applicable to students admitted in 2024-25

 

  1. Required Courses: (6 units)
  • CURE 3144 Spirituality, Psychology and Well-Being
  • CURE 3147 Religion and Mental Health Care
  1. Elective Courses: 

(a) 5 courses from the followings: (15 units)

  • ANTH 4330 Medicine, Health, and Culture
  • CURE 2019 Power, Identity, and Inequality in Medicine
  • CURE 2142 Religion and Ethics
  • CURE 2144 Life and Death in Religions
  • CURE 2156 Religion, Health and He
  • CURE 2163 Religion and Food
  • CURE 3115 Religious Education and Developmental Psychology
  • CURE 3375 Science and Religion
  • PSYC 3720 Health Psychology

(b) 4 CURE courses at 2000 or above level from the Religious Studies Areas: (12 units)

  • Please refer to Religious Studies Major Programme “Course List.”

 

Notes:

  1. This concentration is only applicable to students who major in Religious Studies.
  2. ARAB, CURE, EDUC and THEO courses at 2000 and above level as included in the respective concentrations will be included in the calculation of Major GPA for honours classification for students specialize in the relevant concentrations.
